I am an artist and musician from Germany. I recently discovered how much I enjoyed a certain sub culture known as fan fiction. In December 2010 I started to write and publish a fiction (Little Green & Easybella) where the main character happened to be austistic. It's still a work in progress, and with each new chapter uploaded, my mailbox almost explodes with the response I get. I had the pleasure to meet the most awesome people... moms of autistic/aspie kids, teachers and caretakers who all touched my heart and soul with the personal stories they shared with me. There are even autistic adults among my readers. Apparently I did something right with my little fiction. At one point in the story, the autistic protagonist at the age of ten speaks his first few words and gets rewarded with a t-shirt that says 'Chatterbox'. There you go... my royalties of each sold shirt go 100 % to 'Autism Speaks', an organisation that raises awareness, funds, advocates. (more info at www.autismspeaks.org) Thanks.
