In 2019, our story began with a serendipitous encounter when Austin walked through the wrong door at a mutual friend’s house. Little did we know, that moment would shape our lives forever. Just a month later, our first date marked the beginning of a journey filled with unexpected twists and beautiful moments. As time flowed, our bond strengthened, and we seamlessly transitioned into living together, with Austin’s simple yet profound question about my enjoyment sealing the deal. When the pandemic hit, our impulse purchase was a lake house, a sanctuary where we immersed ourselves in renovations and culinary adventures, mastering the art of cooking together. From there, we ventured into acquiring a mountain property, which led to the inception of our first Airbnb. Suddenly, Alexis embraced motherhood with open arms as Austin had an adopted daughter, a transition that reshaped our lives in profound ways. We acquired Sugar Dolphin, an oceanfront vacation property in NC that we now Airbnb in 2022 and bought our forever home in 2022 as well, which needs a lot of work. Fast forward to 2024, and we’re embarking on a new chapter as we prepare to exchange vows.
