I always knew I was going to be a greeting card illustrator. At the School of Visual Arts in New York City, I thought my path was neat and simple—until sculpture, photography, and graphic design classes complicated everything. Each course left me wanting to be more: a sculptor, a photographer, a designer. That spark of curiosity has guided me ever since. Since 1983, I’ve freelanced across the country—illustrating and designing in NYC, painting as a fine artist in Hawaii, and exploring the nooks and crannies of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan while working as a creative coordinator and email marketer. My journey has always been about blending mediums and perspectives: pastel, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, and colored pencil, often layered together to create something unexpected. I believe we are all artists, each with our own vision and medium—the way we tell a story, create a home, build a life. My art reflects that belief. It’s been said my work engages the eye, mind, and soul, and one of my greatest joys is when someone invites a piece of mine into their daily experience. Life is art.
