Mini Biography:
Melissa Biggs spent the first nine years of her life in a custom log home with her family outside of a small town in Oregon. Her father was a successful general contractor and her mother an artist. At age eleven she studied drama and dance and worked as a model in Portland, starring in numerous TV commercials and print ads, and won a scholarship for the Junior Miss Oregon Pageant, as well, was awarded the Presidential Academic Achievement Award for her perfect straight A's all through school.
After the family left that rural existence they moved frequently, and Melissa attended fourteen schools before setting out for Hollywood at age eighteen.
A formally trained actress, Melissa studied with legendary acting teachers Larry Moss and the late Roy London (whose students included Leonardo di Caprio, Toby Maguire, Michelle Pfiffer, Tom Cruise and others) She also studied with character actor, Ernie Lively, father of Eric Lively and Blake Lively, who helped start and shape the careers of many of Hollywood's young working actors.
In addition to two seasons on the worldwide hit Baywatch, Melissa has made cameo appearances in films such as Lucky Town, acting alongside James Caan and Kirsten Dunst, Rush Hour 2, Sharkskin 6, and Heart & Souls with Robert Downey Jr and has appeared on TV's The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Collection and The Travel Channel's Secrets.
Drawn to Charleston, SC, she formed a talent agency, ‘Nova Models & Talent’. Nova assisted in the casting of ‘Die Hard 3’, ‘Something to Talk About’ and ‘Ace Ventura, Pet Detective’ starring Jim Carrey.
Melissa then created, ‘Acting Up’, an acting school and theatrical production company for underprivileged kids, where she wrote, produced and directed plays where they could showcase their talents.
Melissa also acts as a spokesperson, designer and brand ambassador for major organizations, and subsequently, as a fashion designer and entrepreneur, Melissa launched her own clothing collection ~ P.G.D. Style. www.pgdstyle.com
In addition, Melissa makes regular public speaking appearances as the national spokesperson for the pharmaceutical company, CSL Behring, Australia.
Melissa is scheduled to appear in Toronto in a live comedy show entitled "Fish Follies Deluxe", directed by Jim White, opening in the fall of 2009 and has her own style talk show in development entitled, "Stieil TV with Biggs" set to air in the spring of '10.
Melissa is currently living in Los Angeles, and spends her free time raising her daughter and playing tennis.
