I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where I attended the University of New Mexico and studied studio art and political science. I moved to Los Angeles in 1980 where I started an art services company. After leaving LA a few years later I moved to New York where I worked for Dyansen Gallery, a major commercial gallery in SOHO and subsequently for artist Tony Price directing his Atomic Art Gallery. Upon returning to Santa Fe in the mid-1980's I was named Director of the Governor's Gallery at the NM State Capitol where I served for six years. In 1992 I opened a gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe which I operated until 1997. upon moving to Nashville in 1998 I went to work as Assistant Director of Special Projects for the Tennessee State Museum and began to re-invent myself in my new home. Following my involvement in a failed internet start-up and after administering a friend's web business for several years I decided to learn web design myself. I have been working to develop my skills with Dreamweaver, Photoshop and recently Flash and with each new project I learn more. It's a great learning curve and has provided me with many new opportunities to assist others in my role as arts advocate. It has also provided an outlet for my own creativity and inspired me to create my own work. I have a presence on the Worldwide Web through my site newartsweb.com and continue to design websites, conduct art sales and work as an independant curator. In 2001 I was the curator of an exhibition on the work of master printmaker Ron Adams for Vanderbilt University and in 2004 was guest curator for exhibition on the work of sculptor Tony Price for the Museum of New Mexico which opened in Santa Fe in March of that year and was presented again at the United Nations in 2005. In 2017 I completed a BA in Museum Studies at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe and am currently pursuing a MA in Art History & Visual Culture at Lindenwood University.
