This store is how I can share a little piece of my art with the world as I still have some seperation anxiety when letting go of the original works. I often use the excuse that I am holding onto the works until I have a large and very art filled solo exhibition, however the truth might just be that it's very hard for me to let go of something I spent months forming a bond with and you get very emotionally attached to the artwork hanging in your house to dry. Some of my art actually takes years to dry as it's made with very thick layers and after having it around within eyesight for that long, it's very hard to let go. Of course there is a slight possibility that I also have hoarding tendencies as my art room is packed (every 5 x3 meters of space) with supplies I will use one day. Anyway, the truth is that as an emerging artist who is addicted to art supplies and very high quality professional oil paint, this little store hopefully will keep me afloat in enough paint to finish my projects for the solo exhibition I'm hoping will launch my career. Also I'm hoping it will give me a little bit of extra exposure before I approach galleries to exhibit my work as it is my biggest fear that when I finally have the courage to display my artwork in a gallery, no one will come to the exhibition, proving not only that my art is terrible, but also that I have failed in my dream to live in a world of art as both an artist and art teacher. For if I cannot do and succeed, I should not teach or lead others down my same path of failure. Uh well that was a little deep, sorry... ummm.... Anyway, enjoy my little shop and it would be fantastic if you bought something so I can buy paint!!!
