We are a private 501 (c) 3 shelter in rural West Tennessee. We are named after the late Mrs. Frances Halbrook Hensley. Mrs. Hensley was an avid animal lover of all dogs and cats. She sacrificed everyday essentials that most take for granted in order to leave all she could to build this facility. This shelter is her dream, her vision, her legacy and the very first of its kind for this community. It is our Mission to carry out her legacy by giving abandoned and neglected animals in our community the love and care that they deserve while offering every opportunity to finding their forever home. The Frances Halbrook Hensley Animal Shelter of West Tennessee is a no-kill facility, and we are totally dependent on the contributions of others to stay open. We are constantly in fear of being shut down because we can't meet our operating expenses even though most of our "employees" are volunteers who receive no remuneration except the knowledge that a few hours of their time means the difference between life, and death for these furbabies. We are a not for profit facility, and endeavor to meet our financial obligations via fundraising across various platforms. Selling products in this store is just one, but a vital one.
