Welcome to the House of Caroline! I am Susan Fahidy and I am a bereaved mother raising my daughter's children. I have a passion to create, and I find my happiness while I am being creative. I found myself unable to re-enter the corporate world once I lost my son and then my daughter and raising children who needed grief support. So, I decided that creating digital and printable art was my future. Why the House of Caroline? It's amazing how history is found to repeat itself within families. It sure has in mine! Caroline is my great, great grandmother. Lovingly referred to as Granny in our family, she also found herself a bereaved mother when her only child and his wife both died in the same year. Granny was left to raise her 4 grandchildren (one of which was my grandmother) in her 50's with no other form of income. She got creative and started her own business making hair pieces for the wealthy from real human hair. This helped her put food on the table and to financially afford those 4 little kids. While I now have the option of e-commerce and fortunately don't have to collect human hair myself, I wanted to honour Granny and name my store for her. The House of Caroline. Her memory and all she gave those kids who lost everything will live on through me. The House of Caroline gives me the opportunity to put food on my own table and to financially afford my 2 little (grand) kids.
