HOPE FOR HAITI

It was the quake felt 'round the world and it brought the already impoverished people of Haiti to their knees, killing hundreds of thousands and wounding an unfathomable number of citizens. Children are orphaned, families struggling still just to survive without clean water and adequate medicine. The date was January 12th, 2010...it was my 29th birthday. Believing whole-heartedly in the school of karma and "everything happens for a reason", my partner and I felt the timing was more than coincidental and that any action we could take would truly make a difference in the lives of the Haitians scrambling through the maze of such unspeakable suffering. Much like many other families right now, we're battling the one-two punch of chronic health problems, family tragedy and financial ruin. We've found the experiences of the last couple years to have an ironic effect: teaching us the true power harnessed by "HOPE". When the earthquake struck its tragic blow to the people of Haiti, we felt the desire to give to them the HOPE they need. The HOPE we've learned is so integral to human existence. The HOPE that lets someone know they are not alone.
