À propos

I’m Jennifer Christel, a Michigan photographer whose art was born from surviving more than I ever thought I could. For years, I lived in an environment where I had to stay small, quiet, and hidden just to feel safe. Around that same time, I became seriously ill and spent years fighting for answers. Through the confusion, the Cushing’s diagnosis, and the long road back to myself, the world often felt unstable and unreal. What kept me anchored were tiny details: the color of a flower on my walk, the shimmer of light through a window, the shifting patterns in nature. These small things became proof that beauty still existed, even when life felt impossible. I began photographing them so I wouldn’t lose myself. When I finally broke free and when safety, distance, and clarity began to grow, those photographs became something more. They turned into a visual language, something that helped me trust my perception again, make meaning out of what I lived through, and slowly reconnect with the world around me. I’m still in that process, still growing, still healing, and still discovering what my life can become. Most of my art begins as a photograph: real flowers, real places, real fragments of my everyday world. DenominationOne is my quiet world made visible. My work is rooted in attention, resilience, and the truth that beauty can coexist with hardship. Each image is a fragment that helped me keep going and continues to guide me as I find myself again. This shop is not just where I sell art. It’s where I share those moments that helped me come back to myself. I hope they bring a sense of calm, softness, or recognition to your space.
