When I first started sharing my own work on Instagram @solangefingal a few years ago, I had to search hard to find other black abstract artists. I was lucky to find and follow a few but I knew there had to be more out there. So I started a separate account called @blackabstractartists as a way to document and catalogue the black abstract artists I admire while studying my craft. I had to dig the depths of the internet and visit museums to learn these names and their history. I started it back in January 2020 and it has grown into a community I never expected. It has provided me with an abundance of inspiration getting to know living artists and learning the history of those in the past. Come check out all these amazingly talented #blackabstractartists!
