After graduating from Forest High School in Ocala, Florida (class of 1985), I immediately went to Parris Island, South Carolina to complete Marine Corps Boot Camp. My 4 year enlistment allowed me to travel the world while I worked as an A6-E Intruder jet engine mechanic with H & MS-14 and VMA (AW)-332. After my active duty tour ended, I moved to Gainesville where I worked at the University of Florida for 7 years. During that time, I met and married my husband. I graduated from Santa Fe Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science (class of 1997). After my husband graduated from the University of Florida (class of 1998), he received a United States Marine Corps Officer's commission but later transitioned into the Navy and now flies the P-3 Orion. We have moved 13 times since marrying in May 1994 and currently live near Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. After our only son was born in 1999, I have stayed at home full time. He has been homeschooled for the past 3 years and is active in Boy Scouts and baseball all year long. In between life and responsibilities, I am also working on my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Advertising & Design and will graduate in December 2011.
