March 31, 2014. A Senior Executive's mother had just passed away, and I was shopping for a Sympathy card for him. He's a real man's man, and a straight shooter. None of the Hallmark cards seemed to fit. Most included some form of cursive and/or a lengthy poem, not what the ideal card should be: Short, to the point, and letting him know I was thinking of him.
This concept has been brewing for the last two years. There's a distinct need in the marketplace for simple cards that men won't feel awkward receiving or sending. At Man Cards, we'll work tirelessly to make the process as simple as possible. We'll continuously improve through the eventual implementation of online calendar integration (never forget an occasion again!), direct mailing to the end recipient, and plain and simple Manliness.
No one has routinely provided more inspiration to me to keep evolving than The Artist - Baron Batch. I challenge any of you to visit Studio AM for a Sunday Brunch, and not leave feeling inspired and happy. I've been fortunate enough to get to know him and his entire Vibe Tribe, and it's safe to say, there aren't many with his incredible vision. Check out how he's aiming to beautify the City of Pittsburgh.
I created The Wingmen as a content creation program to play to each member's strengths, create a profit sharing model to incentivize good, quality ideas, and make the design process fun and competitive.
This process has been as much about filling a glaring hole in the marketplace, as it is about proving that I can launch an entirely new business from the ground up, across multiple fields where I have little expertise, and building a brand and a team...after 200 hours of work, in seven weeks.

This is Man Cards, and we're just getting started.
